Pumpkins

I am all about traditions and one of my favorites is carving pumpkins with the kids around Halloween. It seems like up until a certain age, mom & dad are having most of the fun doing the actual carving, so we mix it up a little bit & let them use sharpie markers sometimes intead!!

Get out the markers & let them go wild!!

Fabulous Dresser Redo

A friend of mine found this fabulous dresser at the dump for me. I had plans to paint it and sell it....well, I have this problem....everything I bring home I fall in LOVE with :) Anyways, it sat in my garage for a while & my sweet husband decided to get busy painting it for me on his day off. WONDERFUL!! Thanks hubby :) The only bad part is I hadn't gotten a BEFORE picture. Just imagine an very ugly yellow & gold 70's looking dresser. So without further delay:

Isn't it beautiful!?!

Fancy legs

So many drawers to fill!! Kept the original hardware & painted it Oil Rubbed Bronze

It gives her room a more grown up feel...since she is 12 & is trying to convince me that she IS in fact, growing up!!

**UPDATE** I found this photo on the internet & it is what the dresser looked like BEFORE.

Monogram Wood Blocks

With a new baby niece on the way I have been getting crafty on baby girl decor. It has been so long since we have had a baby around!! Anyways, my sister & I were shopping and stopped into a Boutique baby store and saw some monogram blocks that were so cute. Of course the little light bulb went off in my head: I could make those!! So instead of handing over a $20 bill, I made this for her.

{precious}

I just love it and it was so easy to make. Not to mention FUN!!

I used a 2x4 cut into a 3.5" x 3.5" block. Sanded & painted white. Added paper & embellished.

Since then, I decided I would take orders to make them for others. Here are some more I have made for people.

These are for sisters :)

I even got an order for a little boy one!!

I had so much fun making these!!
