Old Shabby Window Project

I am so glad when we got new windows in our house we kept the old ones in the garage. At the time I didn't really do too much painting and redoing of things, but thought I might be able to make something with them..

This is just one of many. All I did was paint this one white, add a 2nd coat of custom mixed turquoise over the top of that (when I say "custom mixed" that is just fancy talk for I poured colors together until they looked pretty) and shabbied it up a bit.

I hung my coffee filter wreath on it for photos :)

Lovin it ♥

School is in Session

It was a bittersweet day at our house today. My kiddos headed off to school. One 4th grader and one 8th grader. They are both in the same school for this one year together. Our district middle school is 4th thru 8th graders. They think it is kind of cool that they actually get to see each other at school now :) Both of them were really excited to get back and see their friends. I have been so apprehensive thinking about summer ending and the routine, blah, blah, blah...but, after I dropped them off at 7:35 this morning I think I heard a little bit of  " hallelujah" playing in the background. Don't get me wrong, I will miss them terribly, but the freedom to do whatever I want/need to do without the guilt of neglecting my children is wonderful!!

Here they are. Ready to go.

Re-purposed Wine Rack

I came across this old wooden thing at goodwill that I am assuming is a wine rack. A couple quick coats of spray paint and it sure is cute. I stuck glass Kerr jars filled with colored pencils, paints, ribbons and rulers in it for some super cute storage.

I sold this thing and now I miss it terribly!! I hope I run across another one. I will snatch it up and keep it for myself this time :)

In Love with my Rescued Cabinet

It has been a ridiculously long time...BUT..I am back with a darling cabinet makeover.

My grandma had this poor thing in her basement for years and years, in fact, I believe it may have been there when she and my grandpa bought the place!! She knows if she comes across any junk that nobody would want, she should call me ASAP ;)

Anyway. Here is the before.

My husband claimed it was beyond saving.

Umm, are you kidding me!?! It has so much potential!!

So, after a lot of sweet talking, he added a few screws and some wood here & there. He also took the broken glass out & put chicken wire in for me.

I painted it yellow.

I think it is just too charming...

I don't have any idea what I will use it for, but for now, it will just sit and be pretty :)
